| | New Wizard of Oz???? | | How true are the rumors I have heard that they are going to be making a new "Wizard of Oz."? I can't believe it. There is no way that they can redo the original. Let me know what, if anything, you have heard. | |

| Last living munchkin from Wizard of Oz dies | | Such sad news, Mickey Carroll, the last living munchkin from the movie The Wizard of Oz died today. He was 89 years old and lived in St. Louis, MO. He was such a nice guy who always took the time to talk to his fans. I met him several years ago and was simply amazed at how down to earth and active he was. Do you remember him from the movie? | |
| | Great Gig in the Sky/Wizard of Oz Synchonization | | Have you ever hear of this theory? I have and now I found a clip on YouTube that synchronizes the song with the Wizard of Oz. You can see it here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNbv0L1x0iADavid Gilmour and Roger Waters have always denied that they intentionally arranged the music that way but if they didn't it's a remarkable coincidence. Do you know of any other music that unintentionally synchronizes to movies? I love Pink Floyd and really enjoyed this clip. | |

| | He's like the wizard of oz | | His entire platform is predicated on these expensive, elaborate programs that he now admits he can't fulfill. So basically he's saying he's not going to give everyone free health care, free college, and green energy. He's also not going to be able to keep his promises to lower taxes for 95% of the country. He telling us all now that he can't do what he's promised. So what's left? He will be pretty much useless now. http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/09/23/obama-says-financial-crisis-may-delay-his-spending-proposals/I say the foreseeable future needs to be about FISCAL CONSERVATISM-- something McCain claims to be and even Obama now says we all need to be. | |
| | Today in History - The Wizard of Oz was released! | | In 1939, the film The Wizard of Oz was released. Have you shared this classic with your kids yet?I started my girls out when they were young watching this, in my lap because of the witch. Every once in a while they want to watch it, which is fine by me.I actually found somewhere, in my travels, a book called "The Making of the Wizard of Oz". It is a slow read because it gets down to the nitty gritty but it is a very good book. I am still really in the beginning because they are still casting members for the movie. | |

| Were off to see the wizard the wonderful wizard of Oz! | | Dorothy, the tin man, cowardly lion and the unforgettable scarecrow. A group of metaphorically misfit individuals that came across each other to take a yellow brick path to meet some one that will have the answers to their self-perceived shortcomings and deficiencies. This movie is one of the biggest American classics that has withstood time and can be watched over and over again without getting old. More importantly was the story and the point that it was making about the answer to solving your own problems are within you all along and the wizard turned out to be just a symbolic image of false hope of having someone do it for you. In reality, we have many people that want to see "The Wizard" to solve many of the self-perceived problems we see in ourselves in life. Some will pray to their "God" for help and others will pull themselves up by their own "bootstraps", but still look for assistance from others.[i]If you could walk down the the yellow brick road to see the wizard, what's one of the biggest self-perceived shortcoming you see in yourself that you believe he can fix for you? Is it a nervous problem when speaking, a problem with listening to others,... | |
