| We're in a winter wonderland right now, ice-covered everything! It's beautiful! | | It started last night. Rain. Freezing rain. As soon as it hits anything, it freezes immediately. It's treacherous to drive on, but the scenery is breathtaking! Have you seen this yourself? It's beautiful but very, VERY dangerous.I'm not setting foot outside until the ice is gone from the roads but I sure am enjoying the scenery while it's lasting. Here's a picture of one of our trees.How do you feel when you get freezing rain that covers everything in ice (assuming you do, that is)? Do you have any pictures of it? | |
| | Winter Wonderland! | | Well Minnesota took a big hit today with snow and sleet...freezing rain and some other things too unusual to name. From early this afternoon I have been hearing the buzzing of the snowmobilers go by my house. Whizzing up and down the street, having a blast I am sure! I know the noise bothers some people and they on occasion do cut across my back yard but since it's all frozen over I don't mind. With the exception of if they got hurt going over the curbs....anyway...it noise bothers some people but to me it's just someone having fun. Do you have something like this that irritates you? Or do you just listen to someone else having a good time? | |

| Are you dreading the winter? | | I don't know about you, but where we live we usually have lots of rain during the winter followed by snow...until last year. Last winter our snowfall was falling at an alarming rate. We literally couldn't keep up to it and were continuously shoveling our driveways. I also noticed that very few people were shoveling their driveways as much, and hence drivers kept using our driveway to turn around in. I am really dreading winter for fear that history might repeat itself and we might again receive that much snow. Seriously, it was so extreme that we kept getting stuck trying to get out of our neighborhood, couldn't go to work, and it was just really unsafe to drive. We easily had over 4 feet of snow. Plus living here in Vancouver, we are notorious for having the worst drivers in Canada. So, how do you feel about winter? | |
| | Yes!! We Have Got It At last Since......... | | Yes!!!! we have got it at last! yes folks I am talking about that white stuff that comes out of the sky, "SNOW" after 13 years this is the first time we have had snow, it is mius 4 at the moment and the its nearly 4.a.m in the morning and its still coming down, we have got at least 15cm I think outside but maybe more because I haven't gone out there with my tape measurement lol! but I can see its about 4 inches deep by looking at the top of the car roof. I am so excited and can imagine how the kids will feel in the morning as they get up, they will all run out to play I'm sure, I haven any kids but I'm sure the kids will love it. I shall have to write this down on my diary just in case we won't get snow again for a long time. Its winter wonderland out there Yesssss!!!!! | | The Jaws Of Life? | | Excuse the fuzziness of this crystal. It was taken from a far distance and it wsa dark as well. But I see a large animals set of teeth ready to take in some type of prey. I love crystals and the various ever changing artowrk they present.

| Snow blown scenery | | I love the effects of wind blown snow on things around the yard. This is a shot of my gutter and solar light in my backyard. The solar light, dead center of the photo, looks like it has on a stocking cap made of crisp white snow. The gutters snow is of various depths from the wind blowing it around as well. It will not change much as we did have some moisture in the air causing the snow to hartden somewhat. I think scenes like this are actually very peaceful and or serene. What do you tjhink about snowy scenery? Does it make you feel at ease? Does't it have a calming effect for you at all?

| | Cold Enough For You??? | | well, as many of you may or may not know,
i live in Las Vegas, Nevada.it's not unusual to have many, many days of 100 degrees or more during the summer.heck just last week we were in the 60's.well right now it's[b]SNOWING[/b] right outside my window, and no i don't live in the mountains, i live a couple of miles from The Strip.
we get snow down here in the valley every couple of years.boy, it's really coming down......kinda reminds me of Minnesota where i spent 13 years.......of course this won't stick......for very long anyways.
but i'm sure it will wreak havoc with the roadways.drivers around here act like it's Armageddon when it drizzles.[em]doh[/em] so how's the weather in your neck of the woods???*ooooh boy.....i can't wait to here from all the people "down under" telling me how hot it is.....i'll talk to you guys in the summer*just kidding.....love all you Aussies...........and your koalas.[em]lol[/em] | |
| | Love to Listen to Christmas Music! | | I found a radio station that plays only Christmas Music! I was delighted with this. I am a Christmas music junkie. Of course I have been listening to the cheerful music for about 2 weeks now. As I type this discussion I am listening to Elton John's "Step Into Christmas." Love holiday music! There are so many songs out there that are favorites of mine. What are some of your favorites? | |
