| How do you feel about the elderly? | | I'm well over 60 years of age but don't feel like I'm an old man. I still have the home we raised our 8 children in and each bedroom still contains some of the appropriate childs items. It's been a little difficult realizing that each of the children has turned into an adult and they have their own lives to live. As we all get older it becomes more and more difficult to find the time to stay in touch. When my parents got old enough and in poor enough health that they needed someone to care for them I built an "in-law" suite and moved them in so they would be close and my wife and I could care for them. They have all passed on now and the suite has become my get away place where I can go and watch sports while my wife watches the women type stuff on the other TV. Recently I've been contacted by friends/acquaintances who are approximately the same age. They have poor health and need assisted living. They don't have much money and have been trying to stay with their children but it's not working out. It's difficult to be a parent and have your children tell you what to do and when to do it. Two of our friends are sleeping on the couch of their daughter's house and are daily told... | |
| | Daily TV Game shows - Who watches them? DO you? | | My pc was being upgraded with a new graphics card today so I had some time on my hands. Got to watch some tv in the middle of the day which I rarely do. Was really surprised to see that they have added more daytime game shows. Saw abit of Let's make a deal which I remember from childhood and it was fun seeing all the odd costumes to try and catch the hosts eye. It really took my mind off work for just a little while. They really help families start anew and clean their clutter. This show not only cleans houses it helps the people living in those houses to become more mature and make good sacrifices. How many do you have? | | i like to collect wrist watches..i am easily attracted/drawn to watches displayed at the malls/department stores. different designs and different colors are very enticing to buy..i admire people wearing rare designs and would eventually asked them about the purchase..i have lots(more than 100) of watches collected and some batteries have not been changed already. | Do you still use clocks (not wrist watches) and how many do you have? | | Nowadays I find people not replacing their clocks, as compared to earlier times, with a new one or repaired if that goes out of order - they always have their mobile phones to show them the time - while they still have their bedside alarm clocks though many people again prefer using cellphones for alarms and wakeup alarm too.
What do you do? Do you still replace the clock or get it repaired if it breaks down, and how many clocks do you have at home?
I have a clock in every room and yes I do replace them if they go out of order. and though I do not use a wake up alarm, in case I need to get up earlier than my usual time I use the alarm on the cellphone. | |
