Josh Turner and Trisha Yearwood Another Try
I have to say that I really liked the vocal combination of Trisha Yearwood and Josh Turner's voice, while some think it may be mellodramatic, I thought it was a very beautiful song, iwth a hint of sadness....The only thing I think was that it was hard to deistinguish their voices when they sang together, their voices blended so well.Have you heard the song? What do you think of it?Mooch
Do you love Trisha Yearwood?
I do. My favorite song in the worls is; "she's in love with the boy", i love all of her music, what about you? whats your favorite song by trisha?
Unhappy In Love?
How many of you know "On a Bus to St. Cloud"? Perhaps because I was getting out of a tortured love affair when I first heard it (nearly 10 years ago), but this song just affected me so strongly. Still now, happily married and with a child who just turned 5, when I think of this song sometimes it just kills me. For some reason I started thinking of it just now.If you don't know the song, it's all about seeing this person you love whereever you go. It very descriptively talks about all of the different places the singer has gone and how she keeps imagining she sees the face of her love. At the end of it there's a little part where she says, "And you chase me like a shadow And you haunt me like a ghost And I hate you so, and I love you so But I miss you most"Have you ever felt this way? I can still feel that desperate feeling, of thinking that you'll never escape the memory. I highly recommend this song if you haven't heard it before. It stirs so many emotions for me.
Music triggering memories and feelings
Have you ever noticed that music can seriously trigger memories and feelings that could have been suprressed for years and brought them back? The other day I was getting my hair cut and this song came on the radio and I knew what song it was within a few seconds of it starting. Well my father died of cancer on August of 2006 and the song came on and reminded me of him and how much I miss him. The lady was so sweet she just kept talking to me like crazy trying to block it out for me. Have you ever had this happen?
Have you ever met anyone famous?
Due to a great diversity in careers, I've met quite a few celebs, and wonder - who is the most famous celeb you've ever encountered? And, where they all you hoped, a disappointment, or just damn awful? (Please do not choose politicians, because - 1/ I'd like this to be a civil discussion[not a Bush/Clinton/Blair bashing], & 2/ They're always meeting the public, to suck up at election time) For UK people, I met Jools Holland, before his tv career, but after Squeeze. I was DJing a function in Durham, and he was compere. He would come on stage between the acts, just a stool & keyboard, take requests for songs, then requests for a 'style' in which to perform to song. Though, very short of stature, his presence and ability were immense, and he was incredibly polite and cheery, too. For the rest of the world, it was Bobby Womack, and he was 4 hours late, and very grumpy - though, to be fair, the 2 may have been related! What are your experiences?
Christmas Songs
This time of year there are many songs out to celebrate Christmas and the religious holiday. Some of them can be very beautiful and can be admired even if you aren't Christian. One of my favorites is a song that Trish Yearwood does, written by Skip Ewing, called "It Wasn't His Child." It's a song that tells the story from Joseph's point of view. Not something that is very common to hear about. It actually deals with more then just Christmas but is mainly played this time of year. You can read the lyrics here: http://lyrics.astraweb.com/display/67/trisha_yearwood..sweetest_gift..it_wasnt_his_child.html So are there any Christmas songs you love to hear, sing to or what have you this time of year? That you'd like whether or not you follow the religion? If so what is it and why?
Looking into the future
If you could look into the future and see how your life is going to turn out. Would you?

Is Garth actually back from retirement or whats going on? The last I saw of him was a while ago on Oprah with Trisha Yearwood and he was saying he was semi retired until his kids were grown up a bit more (but I think everyone knew he would not be able to stay retired for long, THE MAN IS MUSIC!). Anyway does anyone have any info on him lately? Whats he doing? when did you see him last? I'd love to know! Thanks
