Happy presidents day USA!!
Today 16th Feb 2009 is..Presidents Day!!Did ya all know this?[em]w00t[/em]Today is the celebration of the office of the President, the celebration of your country and its history. I think there is real importance in celebrating all of your[em]w00t[/em] country's presidents, "good" or "bad." As the most visible and recognizable representation of the freedom, justice, liberty, and hope that the United States embodies in the minds of its citizens, the office of the President of the United States of America is a powerful symbol of your country and is in and of itself worthy or our respect with a holiday dedicated to it.This is a beautiful, very powerful presentation about the roots of the USA. It takes a few minutes of your time to watch. It includes awesome quotes from your presidents. Now, turn your sound up a little and enjoy.http://www.interviewwithgod.com/patriotic/highband.htmHappy Prsidents Day USA!!What makes YOU proud to be American...if ye ur American that is?[em]thumbup[/em]
Okay, so it's Presidents' Day here in the U.S.
Who would you name as your favorite U.S. President? You don't have to be from the U.S. to answer this question, because I'm kinda curious as to what all people think.
Did you get any "Presidents Day" sales while shopping today?
Oddly enough I've never really paid much attention to the sales they run on Presidents Day but my daughter wanted a PSP so we were looking. Luckily we waited a day and went today because the entertainment package she wanted was $50 cheaper for a President's Day sale! Did you find any good sales today? Not like it's normally a huge day for shopping but I was surprised since for a change I paid attention! lol
Michael's Presidents Day Sale!!!
Just got in from Michael's and they are having a sale. They have acrylic paint for $0.50 per 2oz bottle. Sculpey and Fimo are on sale here as well. Sale goes through Friday or Saturday. Take a look at the Michael's site, find the stores in your area and look at the weekly special!
presidents day
Do people these days care about presidents day?
Presidents Day
I can remember a time when there was no Presidents day we celebrated Lincons and Washingtons seperate. Now we have combined them and have one day that banks, mail and school can be canceled.
Presidents Day
Do we really think we should have this holiday? Our kids get off but what is the real occasion? Give me your thoughts on this subject
Does anyone do anything special for Presidents Day? What do you do on this day?
I am curious to find out if anyone here does anything special for this holiday. I do not do anything other than sleep in late and enjoy a day off from work but never make any travel plans or anything really exciting. What does everyone here do on this day?
When there is no mail...
Today is President's Day in the United States. No, it's not to celebrate our current president.[em]blink[/em] I guess the government found a medium between Lincoln's birthday and Washington's birthday, and decided they'd celebrate both on February 15th. Anyway, that means all government workers get the day off. Which is good for them, I don't begrudge them that. I just miss getting my mail! LOLOther countries, does your mail NOT run on certain holidays? Besides Christmas of course for the countries that celebrate Christmas. And New Year's Day. Do you even care that the mail doesn't run? And how many of you take advantage of sales during days like this. I won't be shopping today, but I'm sure there are sales galore.
Anniversary of Assasination
Does anybody out there besides me realize that this past Good Friday marked the 142nd anniversary of the assassination of the 16th President of the United States? April 14, 1865 John Wilkes Booth murdered Abraham Lincoln who was at the peak of his popularity. While there are many who may not like him or his methods, no one can deny that despite his failings, it was Abraham Lincoln who saved the union of the United States of America. No flesh and blood hero is without faults and certainly Lincoln had them. But even after all these years, his love for America as a glorious and unified nation shines through. At least I think so, but I am a big girl. What do YOU think?
