Discuss holiday items, ideas, and cheer!| A shining star of hope, the first Christmas without Mom | | I was wondering if anyone else is dealing with the holidays for the first time this year without a parent. I lost my Mom this year and it has been very hard this holiday season. But, I keep my chin up because that it what she would want. She had the best smile and laugh. As a tribute to her, I wrote this poem that I would like to share with all of you. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone.
This will be the first Christmas without Mom
It won't be the same, not like for some.
Memories of past years in my heart with a lock
Especially hearing you sing jingle bell Rock.
Dancin round the kitchen beaming smile a like
It was like getting, all over, that brand new bike.
The holidays without you is not so merry
It's like having a sundae without a cherry.
As I have for the past nine months
I pray to the heavens a whole bunch,
That when the wind blows through the trees
And it creates that warming breeze,
I look to the heaven's to wish on a star
And there you are in my heart, you are not far.
You'll always be with me although you're not here
You are in my heart, my shining star, forever dear.

| | Favorite Christmas Songs | | What are your favorite Christmas/Holiday songs? I'm referring to the non-religious, pop-music genre for this discussion because it just isn't fair to compare a traditional Christmas carol with, for example, Jingle Bell Rock. So, what are you top three all-time favorite popular holiday songs? I don't care how old or how new because so many of them are timeless classics. Personally, I HATE White Christmas - I don't actually hate the song, I just hate the sentiment! I'll be quite fine if we DON'T have a white Christmas, thank you very much! My list includes "Come Home For Christmas" by the Eagles, "Last Christmas" by Wham and "My Grown-Up Christmas List" by Natalie Cole. There are lots of other great ones, but these are the ones I thought of off the top of my head. What are yours?

She has been singing these two songs for days now and of course the second she was on stage she froze lol. She got better after a min and belted out the song it was so funny as another little boy tried to be louder than her so for a few seconds before the teacher stopped them it was loud lol. I think they all did a great job. I am posting a pic but every picture i took has red eye its a new camera so i have not figured it out yet . Btw my emma is the middle one sitting on the floor in the jeans | |
