| June is Adopt a Shelter Cat Month--Any plans for adopting a new friend? | | According to Cat Fancy, June is Adopt a Shelter Cat month. They remind us that each year millions of cats and kittens enter shelters and many are euthnized, not because they are sick or bad kitties, but because of space and resources shortages, in a work they are killed because no one wants them. I wish I could adopt more, but I got an unexpected Christmas gift this year in the form of my adorable kitty Freddie who is quite the charmer. I am glad I got the opportunity to keep him out of the shelter system by bringing him into my home, he is just a lovely little creature. Not to say that my other two lovely kitties(Ashley and Carlye) are any less so. My cats are the light of my life and I feel blessed to have them. And according to research they are better for your cardiovascular health then dogs, who knew? So anyone out there planning to honor adopt a cat month? Or has anyone recently gotten a new kitty? Or just tell me about the furbabies you have. | |
| | a cockroach and a cat | | this happened last night. my cat caught a cockroach. i'm not sure if he caught it outside or inside our house. he has caught a cockroach outside the house before. just like what he did before, he took it inside and played with it. then, i just saw him looking for that little creature for it was missing. after two minutes, i just smelled the smell of a cockroach and i thought that it was just near. i was shocked to see it on my right shoulder. i screamed and i lost my control. whew! has anyone of you experienced crazy things like that caused by your cat? | |

| How do you keep your cat off kitchen benches? | | We have two kittens that are about 4 months old. Recently as they have grown, they have discovered that they can jump straight up onto the dining table and the kitchen benches. We have a squirter bottle full of water that we are using to wet them every time that we catch them up there, but this is not working. They just go up there when we are not in the room and at night. The other day I left the room for about 30 seconds and they jumped straight up on the bench and then off again as soon as I returned. They are well aware of the fact that they are not allowed to go up there because as soon as I left the room again, they jumped straight back up there. I am not overly excited about having them on areas where we do food preparation.[em]thumbdown[/em]We also have a chest of drawers in our hallway and they like to jump up on that as well. I have had to take off all of my sons artwork and photo frames as they were knocking them down and breaking them.[em]sad[/em]Is this just a phase that kittens go through or are they likely to keep doing it forever?Anyone got any other suggestions on how to keep them off these areas other that what we are already doing?... | |
| | My crazy cat | | My cat named hunter hates being pet she will scratch you if you touch her. If she goes outside she will bring back dead mice birds or even sometimes rabbits. I have had many cats but none like her shes crazy. | |

| Scuba cat | | All along we thought cats dont want to swim in water, It was something they dont want to do, cats dont even like a shower or even a warm bath but there was this cat who loves scuba dive. Yup a cat who loves to dive under the sea together with some fishes. Its hard to believe at 1st but with my amazement it was freaking real and true. | | My cat looks sick few days back.. | | I was planning to start a discussion 2 days back on how to forcefeed the cat and how to give medicines onto his mouth as i have no experienced on this thing, cause i have noticed that my cat was not eating at all, has no appetite as it seemed. and didn't move a lot which the total opposite of the cat's normal behavior. but i was so busy and didn't able to manage to start a discussion and so yesterday i was surprised my cat seems a bit stronger. seems to go around the house more and move more and walk faster now. and cries a lot more when hungry. and this day. it seems that my cat is perfectly normal once again in health. hopefully it stays this way. i felt sad 2 days when i saw my cat seems to be suffering from something. and now actually my cat has come inside the room while i am typing and asking for food. better get some food for my cat now. happy posting people. i am happy that my cat has survived whatever bad things he was feeling lately. | |
